Tottenham Hotspur attacker Dele Alli scored one and assisted the other in his side’s 2-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final win against arch-rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, and Liverpool fans were quick to gush over his performance on Twitter.
With Harry Kane rested on the substitutes’ bench it was left up to the England international, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen to deliver the creativity and goals against the Gunners, and the £5m signing certainly did that by assisting Son for the first, before his delightful dink wrapped up a semi-final spot for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Meanwhile, the Jurgen Klopp’s men may have a brilliant attack themselves, but some may feel that they still haven’t effectively replaced Philippe Coutinho in the No.10 role, with the 22-year-old Spurs man certainly someone that would fit the bill.
Liverpool supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Alli’s display, and while one said “Alli would be my dream signing for LFC”, another said “I’d happily pay £100m to see Dele Alli at Liverpool”.
