According to a report from Calciomercato, AC Milan were offered the services of Nemanja Matic during the January transfer window but they declined the chance to sign the Manchester United enforcer.

Look away now, United fans: The Big Quiz on Man Utd under Solskjaer…
United’s midfielder has largely been on the fringes throughout the 2019/20 campaign and, with his contract due to expire in the coming summer, it doesn’t surprise that the Red Devils were looking to get him off their books.
Matic has only registered 601 minutes in the Premier League so far this season and Milan’s decision to decline the chance of incorporating the 31-year-old might have been a good idea.
Verdict
It still remains to be seen what kind of an effect this update will have on Matic’s career.
At the very moment, the Serbian midfielder is definitely not the first name on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team sheet but a lot can change from now until the summer, and the 31-year-old ace could still fight for his spot.

Matic still has quality but he simply wouldn’t have been a wise investment.
Meanwhile, Milan’s rivals, Inter, were also really close to sealing the deal for one of Leicester City’s loanees…
