When asked about the recent trend of high-profile veterans moving to Serie A, such as Luka Modric to Milan and Kevin De Bruyne to Napoli, Bremer was quick to back the idea of Neymar joining Juve for his own “last dance”: “Of course. It would be great to have someone like Ney here at Juve.”
The defender was also asked about fellow Brazilian Luiz, who stirred controversy by skipping Juventus’ first day of pre-season training in what was reported as an unauthorised absence. Bremer confirmed the midfielder has since addressed the issue internally: “Douglas made his choice, the important thing is that he came back and apologized to the club, the coach and us teammates. Now he's here and he's working well.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Neymar was recently linked with a surprise move to Marseille, but the French side are not the only team who will be interested should the Brazilian icon look for another transfer with his eye on the World Cup, and Bremer believes Juve should be an option. Meanwhile, Luiz’s turbulent stint in Turin seems to be nearing its end, his unauthorised absence appears to have sealed his Juventus fate. He is widely expected to be sold in the current transfer window, with Premier League clubs already circling.
