da bet7k: After the disappointment of a 3-3 draw against Cardiff over a week ago, Leeds showed they still have a lofty future on Monday.
da casino: Carlos Corberan’s U23 side dispatched Bolton with relative ease on a freezing cold night in Lancashire.
Leeds swatted them aside 5-1 as two strikes from Eddie Nketiah was one of the main highlights. Jack Clarke, Robbie Gotts and Gjanni Alioski were also on the scoresheet.
However, another of the most impressive performers came in defence – Bryce Hosannah.
The young right-back had to deal with injuries last season and also missed a passage at the beginning of the current term.
Yet Hosannah is now back and firing on all cylinders, demonstrating qualities that align with current first-team player Luke Ayling.
The former Arsenal man signed a new deal in October but at the age of 28, he may only have a few more years at the top left.
Could Hosannah be his natural successor? There are certainly reasons to believe he could be.
The 20-year-old was full of life last Monday, establishing a fine partnership with the energetic Jack Clarke who helped himself not only to a goal but also three assists.
Hosannah was quick in his distribution, urging Leeds to get forward at every opportunity as he looked accomplished on the right-hand side.
Leeds Live gave his display a 7/10, providing the following review: “Solid display at right-back. As keen as ever to bomb forward and affect the match in the final third.”
It’s that desire to get forward with such regularity that could be vital in his attempts to get into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans.
Ayling demonstrated last season that he has wonderful attacking attributes, scoring twice and claiming six assists from a defensive role.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
Bielsa seems to take pride in attacking full-backs as Alioski also registered three goals and two assists in 19 appearances from left-back in 2018/19.
Hosannah may not have claimed a goal contribution last week but his willingness to get forward is a trait that should delight the first-team manager.
With Corberan working so closely with the Argentine, the feedback he provides on the youngster’s progress could be invaluable.
Only time will tell whether a senior team breakthrough is on the cards but Hosannah’s development looks promising.
